Before leaving for Lisbon, I spent the month of July in Colorado out on Bonanza Road, the namesake for this blog. The nearest town (and closest access to gas) is 35 miles away and wifi/cell service is all but nonexistent… just a slight shift from New York City living. I went on cattle drives, helped clear noxious plants, climbed the peaks in our backyard and went to a music festival in Telluride. It was an amazing month- such a great way to transition out of NYC and reset before a year on the road.
Photos below, clockwise from top left: Views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range from the lower fields off the ‘Stage Coach Road’; A cattle drive (as seen from the back of my borrowed horse, Boots) on the Oxcart Ranch; Bevo…the name of an infertile cow being fattened up for you know what 🙁 ; Bonaza Road images; And last but not least, our neighbor Rio who brought love and joy with her every time she dropped by for a visit. Miss you, Rio!!
